You know how at the end of an exercise session, the trainer or instructor goes through about three minutes of stretching with you? And whilst you love those three minutes, you actually wish it were a whole lot longer? Yep, that’s us too!
We don’t know what it is, but there’s something soooo satisfying about a good ol’ stretch and we always try to stretch out (hahaha get it?) our stretching session for the longest time possible, until the trainer eventually kicks us out because they need to go home haha!
Well, the good people at Stretch Studio have invented an incredible answer to all our stretching dreams. Stretch Studio is a place in Sydney’s Double Bay that is dedicated to stretching. Just stretching. And as you can imagine, it’s amazing!
The best part is that it’s a one-on-one session so you barely have to do anything yourself. A flexologist (yep, it’ an actual job title!) is specifically assigned to you and works with your problem areas to ensure you get the best possible stretch.
So many of us have soreness and pain in our bodies, but sometimes it’s not enough pain to warrant a visit to a physio, chiro or GP – a good stretch is sometimes all we need.
We love that the trained flexologists know their stuff so they can ensure our stretch is done correctly and that the limbs of the body are put into the right positions.
Between sitting at a desk all day (or in the car, or working from home), and exercising without following up with regular stretching in the days afterwards (oops!), it’s fair to say that our muscles get suuuuper tight. And whilst the odd massage can help and leaves you feeling relaxed, it doesn’t get into all of the areas of your body that need that deep tissue stretch and release.
We went to Stretch Studio the day after a killer workout with our personal trainer, Christa, and it was ahhhmazing. The friendly staff sorted us out in no time and it was exactly what our sore and tired bodies needed! We love that these classes also are soooo convenient for our schedule with 20, 30, 40 and 50-minute sessions available.
Not only is stretching super relaxing (we may or may not have dozed off once or twice), it can also help you to:
- Reduce pain
- Improve posture
- Prevent injuries
- Move better
- Sleep better
- Increase mobility
A stretching session has our big tick of approval so if you’re struggling with pain, need a great post-workout stretch or just want to nap for an hour (no judgement here), visit our friends at Stretch Studio and they’ll sort you out.
Have you tried a stretch class before? Did you love it?
