Another year has come and gone and with that, we say goodbye to the year’s biggest fashion trends. Whilst some of 2017’s trends have been the best (we’re looking at you, gingham and pink), others haven’t gotten us quite as excited (kitten heels, we’re still not sure how we feel about you).
Nevertheless, as we wrap up the highs and lows of the fashion world for 2017, we are reminded of the trends that will come our way in 2018. Some of them are sooo good, we wonder whether we can start wearing them immediately!
Whilst millennial pink will always hold a place in our hearts, lavender is the new fashion It Colour. Expect to see dresses, shirts, skirts and shoes in this purple hue.
Kate Middleton gave us a glimpse into next year’s winter fashion trends a couple of weeks ago when she stepped out in a plaid L.K. Bennett coat. Gingham was 2017’s biggest trend for patterns and next year, we will see it taken up a notch with plaid and checks becoming increasingly popular.
Tassels was one of our favourite trends for 2017. From handbags and dresses to earrings and shoes, we couldn’t get enough of this fun and flirty look. 2018 will be the year of taking tassels to the next level with fringing making the ultimate comeback.
To be honest, we’re not quite sure how we feel about the latest shoe trend, but it is what it is. Buckle shoes are 2018’s biggest shoe trend and you’ll see them feature on all sorts of shoes from sandals and ballet flats to heels and boots.
We officially give you permission to channel your inner ballerina and Carrie Bradshaw by embracing tulle. This is one trend that makes us infinitely happy!
