For a while now, making the switch to natural deodorant has been a top beauty goal of mine. However, finding an all-natural deodorant that does the job is hard. Really hard. When I started interning at SWIISH I was keen to give the natural deodorant range a go, although based on my past experiences with natural deodorant – it’s safe to say I was a little sceptical.
WHY GO NATURAL?
For most of us, deodorant is an essential part of our daily routine. But have you ever stopped and wondered about the effect it’s having on your body, what chemicals are being absorbed through your armpits? Unlike mainstream deodorant brands that rely on artificial ingredients to do the job, SWIISH prides itself on keeping you fresh – naturally. Aluminium, a key ingredient found in most deodorants, is known to block sweat glands and can be absorbed by your body (not ideal). INITIAL REACTION… FEEL & SMELL
An instant wave of freshness and gentle citrus scent was my first impression upon twisting the lid open. I then rolled it on – it went on smooth and easily, and left no white marks on my clothes. By the end of the day, I found that the uplifting citrusy scent was still radiating through my clothing. This surprised me! (In the best of ways). Applying it every day makes me feel good, knowing that no nasties are being absorbed into my body. After all, they say your body is your temple – so who am I to load it up with chemical nasties!
THE VERDICT: DOES IT WORK?
YES. It really does! Over the past 3 weeks, I have been using the Fresh 100% Natural Deodorant consistently, and have already noticed an immense difference. Unlike other natural deodorants, where re-application is often necessary, the SWIISH formulation ensures that freshness lasts all day long with only one application. SO good! Having sensitive skin (like I do) also makes it that much harder when searching for the right deodorant. However, the gentle and clean ingredients make it perfect for reactive skin types. All in all, to say I would highly recommend the SWIISH 100% Natural Deodorant range would be an understatement. Having spent a long time (and I mean loooonggg time) searching for the right one, I am glad to have finally found my SWIISH fit.
