Summer is nearly here! It’s finally to come out of hibernation and let the summer celebrations begin. Think good friends, delicious food and icy cold drinks. Could it get any better?
In our opinion, every season has it’s own food and drink trend. In 2014, it was all about champagne and mimosas. In 2015, gin and tonic was the drink of choice. Now, as we head into summer 2016, rosé is back in a big way.
That’s right! This season, restaurants, bars and catering companies will all be stocking up on this classic pink drink, as it fast becomes the IT drink for SS16. Whether you’re at a waterside lunch, a backyard soirée or an upscale event, rose is the perfect drink to have in hand.
Team SWIISH have tried a number of rosé varieties over the years and Château La Gordonne rosé is definitely the top pick. There are a few different types but it was the Château La Gordonne Vérité du Terroir Rosé 2014 that truly captured our tastebuds. We first tried it at one of our favourite restaurants last year and ever since, we can’t have anything else! There’s just something about the soft, fruity flavour that we can’t go past.
With refreshing flavours like pink grapefruit, raspberry, redcurrant and citrus, this rosé goes down especially well in warm weather. Now that summer is almost here (well let’s be honest, it’s already here!) we’ll be stocking upon this rosé for all our celebrations.
As we all know though, entertaining doesn’t just involve drinks. You also need fabulous company, a few laughs and of course, fantastic food. If you’ve been to one of our summer soirées, you’ll know that we love love LOVE our Mediterranean food. You just can’t go wrong with a mouth-watering medley of meat, cheese and fish. Throw in a spicy dish or two and your guests will be raving. Trust us, we’ve done this before!
As it turns out, this is exactly the type of food that our favourite Château La Gordonne rosé goes best with. Some call it a coincidence. We call it fate. Ha ha! But in all seriousness, this rosé tastes so beautiful when paired properly. Which brings us to the point of this post…
Below, we’ve put together some of our favourite summer entertaining recipes that taste even better when served with the Château La Gordonne Vérité du Terroir Rosé 2014. We typically drink our rosé by itself in a chilled glass but if you want to kick it up a notch, you have to try some of the drool-worthy cocktails we’ve included as well…
You can also checkout the Château La Gordonne website to see some of the different varieties and find out more about why this rosé is so unique.
