It’s that time again! Shedding the winter woollies in exchange for shorts and cossies means just one thing – the focus is on skin. Exfoliation is important to keep skin feeling smooth and looking younger. I know you’ve probably heard this before, but it’s true and if the supermodels who are blessed with insanely good genes do it, then surely us mere mortals should too. Exfoliation improves circulation, and sloughing off the top layers of skin helps skin to absorb the nutrients and enzymes in skincare products, so that they work more effectively. (What’s the point of wasting all that money on expensive cream and just slathering it on dry skin??!)
As a guide, you should exfoliate between 1 – 3 times per week, depending on your skin type. The more sensitive your skin, the less you should exfoliate. Remember it’s important to be gentle with your skin and don’t overdo it!
