We’re not ashamed to admit that around these parts, we love a good dose of the Royal family and with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding on the horizon (only two more months to go!), we’re keeping an eye on anything to do with the pair. Especially the inimitable Meghan.
So when we found out what Meghan’s favourite workout is, we obviously were incredibly intrigued and wanted to know everything about it. Especially, since the likes of Michelle Obama, Sofia Vergara, Kim Kardashian and Vanessa Hudgens are all fans!
The workout in question? Megaformer pilates! For those of you who have done a Megaformer class before, it’s probably no surprise to you that this is Meghan’s favourite killer workout. It is hard but it definitely sees results!
Megaformer was originally developed in 2005 by Sebastien Lagree to give the same kind of results that you see from high-impact activities like weightlifting and running. The Megaformer machine addresses the five basic elements of physical fitness (cardio, strength, endurance, body composition and flexibility) in all under an hour (amazing, right?!)
The machine uses adjustable springs to allow for a customisable resistance load that is engaged via slow, deliberate movements that activate muscle fibres. This increases the stamina and oxygen capacity of your muscles, which allows you to burn energy for longer periods of time.
