It’s called Bokwa. Bokwa? I know, right… more like Bok-whaaaat?! But this exercise can help you burn up to 1200 calories in one session. Yep.
If you haven’t heard of this fitness craze before, then you’ve surely heard of its older cousin, Zumba. Both involve choreography and an energetic fitness routine that burns hundreds of calories. So, what exactly is it that makes Bokwa stand out from the crowd?
Bokwa is a unique hybrid of hip-hop, step aerobics and African dance created by fitness personality Paul Mavi. But it’s not as complicated as it sounds as there is no choreography or counting steps which is a huge relief for me because as much as I love dancing – it’s not exactly my forte (my time on Dancing With The Stars will attest to that!). Instead, you draw letters and numbers with your feet, so if you can move and you can spell then you can do Bokwa.
And once you’ve got the hang of writing with your feet, Bokwa is pretty simple. You’ll feel confident focusing all your energy on getting the best workout, instead of on following steps – making for one fun, energetic and effective workout.
Did we forget to mention that you could burn up to 1200 calories in one Bokwa session? If that’s not reason enough to shake your groove thing then we don’t know what is!
