I think it’s safe to say that Coco Chanel was the biggest fashion icon in modern history. Her clean-cut, elegant designs have withstood the test of time and made their way into fashion-conscious closets all over the world.
Now, super talented illustrator Megan Hess has just released a gorgeous 200 page book – Coco Chanel: The Illustrated World of a Fashion Icon. The book is made up of a compilation of Hess’ stunning illustrations of the 100 most quintessential moments through Chanel’s history, from Coco’s incredible life, to the impact of Karl Lagerfeld on the company.
I couldn’t help but get lost in the images as I flipped through page after page of beautifully illustrated, iconic Chanel items – the little black dress, the luxurious bags and accessories, glamorous jewellery and of course that renowned Chanel No 5 perfume.
This is one book you don’t want to keep hidden away on a crowded bookshelf. It’s much too beautiful! I love to leave mine on a silver tray in the living room. That way it’s on display and ready for all my equally fashion-loving friends to flip through. Ha! They love it just as much as I do!
‘COCO CHANEL: The Illustrated World of a Fashion Icon’ is out now in bookstores, but you can head to www.meganhess.com to have a copy delivered straight to your door.
