None of us want to admit we’re ageing, but the reality is… it’s inevitable (duh!). Before you know it, wrinkles and fine lines can start appearing, meaning that your makeup application needs a bit more attention.
Now whilst a good skincare routine is paramount in maintaining healthy skin, we wanted to share what the best in the biz do when it comes to makeup application. So if your makeup routine is in need of a shake up, use these tips to really put your best (and most youthful) face forward!
1.) Report for base duty!
When it comes to foundation less is more! I know it seems counter-productive but by using minimal foundation to assist in creating an even base you reduce the risk accentuating wrinkles. Dab and blend on any areas of the face that need evening out then stop. Cake face is only good if you literally had a cake thrown in your face. Yum, now I feel like cake! For a fresh, glowing face go for a foundation with moisturising properties.

2.) Open your eyes!
Try lining only your upper lash line. Too much liner on the bottom can make your eyes seem smaller, highlight dark circles and intensify creases around the eyes. To add a touch of drama look toward warm shimmering eyeshadows. Think peach, copper or rose gold. Use a liquid liner to create a defined upper lid and then top wtih some high-powered shadow.

3. Make best friends with your highlighter
Applying highlighter on your upper cheekbone not only lifts your cheeks but brings attention to your eyes, essentially giving you a double lift. To make it subtle ensure you pick the right iridescent shade for your skin. Be sure to pick an illuminator that looks like a natural highlight on your skin.

4. Fill in your brows!
So years of over-plucking, shaping and waxing may have taken a toll on your brows but by simply filling in your brows you are helping to contour and frame your face. A fuller brown gives a more youthful look and means less maintenance for you. Look to brow powders that are a shade between the colour of your brow and the colour of your skin for a natural look.

5. Warm up!
Warm up the skin with bronzer, the aim isn’t to look like you’ve just come back from a sun-soaked holiday but rather to add a touch of warmth and a heatlhy glow to you skin. I like to apply to forehead, nose and cheeks. I then add an extra layer under my cheekbones to make them look a tad more sculpted.Go for a powder formula with not too much iridescence to avoid looking too shimmery. You want glow, not glitter.
