I’ve mentioned before on swiish about how obsessed I am with super smooth, straight hair but if, like me, you are addicted to styling and straightening, then your hair could be at risk of becoming dry, damaged and split-end ridden.
That’s where this little hair wonder comes in – L’Oréal Professionnel Steampod. So what is it? Well, this hair straightener uses heat and steam to straighten your hair, rather than ironing it.
And that’s better for hair because it prevents drying it out in two ways. Firstly, the Steampod can be used on damp hair so you don’t need to blow-dry your hair before straightening it, causing further unnecessary heat damage.
Secondly, the increased strength of a steam-powered straightener also means that your hair is styled quicker, so your hair is exposed to heat-damage for a shorter period of time – this is especially important for those of us with stubborn frizzy hair!
If you’re looking for volume, there’s also a comb attachment so that you can comb while you straighten (we love a multi-tasker!) and you end up with a salon looking blow-dry finish. Amazing!
At an RRP of $270, the Steampod is not the cheapest straightener around, but as we’ve described, there’s good reason for that. Plus there are rave reviews and cult followers from hair and beauty editors and beauty addicts all over the world, so we know it’s a pretty cool tool.
