I love a celebration, especially when it’s for a good reason (actually sometimes no reason at all is also good!).
Anyway, my dear friend Joe has had his business for 5 years and it was a great reason to celebrate such a fantastic milestone. His favourite food is Japanese so no surprise it was held at Azuma, in Sydney’s CBD.
The food there is amazing and we’ve had a few dinners there over the years but never the degustation menu. It was ten courses. Yes – ten courses! To say I rolled out of there clutching my (very full) belly is an understatement. It’s the day after as I type this and I have skipped breakfast and lunch because I’m still so ridiculously full!
I’ve snapped some pics of my favourite dishes – the kingfish sashimi, the sushi platter, the seafood sashimi salad, the vege and wagu soup (which they cook at the table in front of you, and serve over a raw egg … may not sound good but tastes incredible!!) and of course the dessert platter.
You’ll see I started devouring the dessert and then realised I forgot to take a picture … so hence some of them look a little bit attacked! Oops! My absolutely favourite dessert was the green tea cake – if you haven’t tried one of these before, you must. It’s incredible.
Anyway, congrats Joe, and here’s looking forward to the next 5 years and beyond!
