TREND REPORT: HOMEWARES

If you guys missed our recent fashion post on 2016’s colours of the year, then here’s the scoop.  Basically, at the end of each year the ultimate authority in colour trends – PANTONE, releases a new ‘it’ colour that pretty much defines the way clothes, homes and events are styled for the following 12 months.

This year, PANTONE went all out and decided to drop two new colours instead of one – rose quartz and serenity.  When styled correctly, these tranquil colours can add the perfect stylish, relaxed vibe to your home.  Here’s how to do it right… 

The easiest way to incorporate this trend into your home is with some stylish servingware.  You’d be surprised by how many of your favourite homeware brands have already caught onto this years colour trend! It’s also a relatively inexpensive way to adopt the look for less.  

We absolutely adore ottomans – especially when they’re bang on trend in the colour department.  Chairs are another great way to really fill up your home with these colours.  Just make sure you stick to one shade to avoid clashing.

If you love this trend as much as we do – then you’re ready to go all out!  Painting a wall with a water-like pattern is the perfect way to nail the whole serenity theme.  If you’re not quite ready for something so permanent, try hanging a wall painting instead.   

Long, flowing curtains are another super easy and stylish way to incorporate these colours into your home.  Go for a slightly transparent style to add a gorgeous, fantasy-like feel to the room.  

This is probably our favourite way to sneak a little serenity or rose quartz into your home.  Try a mix of huge, soft throws and comfy cushions in both colours to really fill the room with a sense of relaxation.    

What better place to put 2016’s ‘relaxation’ colours of the year, than in your own bedroom?  There are so many gorgeous sheet sets out there to choose from at the moment.  Add another throw, a few more cushions and you’ve got yourself the perfect bedroom sanctuary.
