We were scrolling through Instagram the other night when we both stopped in our tracks at one particular post. It was a heartbreaking yet heart warming post from the gorgeous Claire Aristides, of Aristides Fine Jewellers. Claire is one of the nicest, most genuine people you could meet, and we were thrilled when she gave birth to beautiful baby Cleo in February this year.
What we since found out was that Cleo was born with a very rare, critical congenital heart defect and on the 11th day of her life, required lifesaving surgery. Thankfully, the surgery was a success and Cleo is doing really well now.
Claire went on to say in her Instagram post that she and her family wanted to give back to the amazing medical team that saved their daughter’s life. In order to do this, Claire has designed and made The Grace Bracelet, named after the Grace Centre for Newborn Care at Sydney’s Westmead Hospital, where Cleo was treated. Each life support machine at the Unit costs $150,000 and there is a dedicated nurse per patient, along with the teams of doctors and surgeons who care for so many babies there. So you can imagine how the costs stack up, and the Centre truly benefits from donations so that they can continue their lifesaving work for newborns.
Claire is donating 100% of proceeds from sales of The Grace Bracelet to the hospital. It only costs $50 and we can’t think of a more worthy cause.
We are sooo happy that Cleo is getting better and we are honoured that we’re able to support such an amazing and generous cause. Claire is also offering free shipping on all orders of this bracelet with the code FREESHIP17 so make sure you swing by Aristides Fine Jewellers to support this incredible initiative.
