GREENS
Honestly, what can’t green veggies do?? Not only are they amazing for healthy hair, they’re also essential for a healthy digestive system. Leafy greens are pretty much sugar and starch-free, low in carbohydrates and high in fibre, making them super-easy for the body to break down. One of the best is asparagus, which helps keep you regular, reduces bloating and has high levels of chlorophyll, which decreases inflammation. Grilling asparagus is our favourite way to eat it – serve with lots of other veggies, a squeeze of lemon and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese. YUM!
FERMENTED FOODS
Your gut is made up of millions of bacteria – both good and bad – that help to digest food. Fermented foods like yoghurt, sauerkraut, kimchi and pickles contain the good ‘live’ type of bacteria essential for a healthy gut. Not all yoghurts are created equal though, so make sure you look out for a brand that is ‘live and cultured’, like Chobani.
