PANTONE has long held the title as the ultimate authority for colour trends across the globe. At the end of each year, their talented team has every designer, fashion blogger and celebrity on the edge of their seat in anticipation for the new ‘it’ colour to be released.
And if you haven’t already heard, PANTONE recently dropped THE colour for 2016…. except – it’s not just one colour, but TWO. Yep. And they are absolutely gorgeous.
This year is going to be all about peace and balance (no arguments here!), so the colours have been chosen to match. Joined together, the warmer embracing rose tone of ‘Rose Quartz’ and the cooler tranquil blue of ‘Serenity’ work together to reflect connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.
Love the colours but not sure how to start styling? Here are our top tips to make sure you nail the trend…
If you’re already a bit of a girly girl, then Rose Quartz is definitely your new go-to. Opt for floaty fabrics and lots of layers for the ultimate, feminine look.
What I love about these colours is that they’re so easy to dress up or down. Try freshening up your typical pantsuit by buying it in Serenity blue. Otherwise take a page from Olivia Palermo’s book and keep it casual with a simple shirt-dress and neutral accessories.
The great thing about Rose Quartz is that it doesn’t have to be super girly if you don’t want it to be. Go for a more edgy look by pairing a dress with a cute pair of sneakers or boots and some black accessories.
When it comes to these colours, don’t think you have to stick to just one or the other. Rose Quartz and Serenity were made to work together! We love the look of a Serenity blue blazer paired with a Rose Quartz shirt, matching shorts and of course, a killer pair of heels.
